Too much of a worrywart!

And I'm talking about myself! See, I always get myself into a panic over the safety of my mom whenever she goes out. I try settling down, but I always end up sort of like an overprotective parent. It's rediculous sometimes, I even worry myself to the point of tears whenever she goes out and I get the thoughts that I might loose her in an accident. Like, it's not like I don't love my mom and want her to be hurt in any way, it's just how can I settle myself down? How can I stop being such a worrywart? Especially since it puts me in such a state at times. Please help.

Why do you worry so much for your mother. Is she that old , that you want her to be always guided? If not, then worry not because she can very well take care of herself. Look at you, she has reared you since childhood and perhaps you can take it from there, that she can take care of herself too now. But if she is already that old, then you should tell her not to go out without you or any companion that can assist her. You know sometimes, oldies would suddenly get dizzy. . so better caution her in going out alone.

I see what you mean, but it's not the case of her being too old. I'm just worried since so many accidents happen because of bad drivers or bad conditions, and I know that I can't just level myself out and say that it could never happen to us. (I know she's a responsible driver.) You know what I mean?
