Has anyone happened to read this book? Im about a quarter of the way through it and im actually enjoying it more than I thought I would Heres a little insight to it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Alchemist_(novel) It's one of those books looking at reviews, you'll either enjoy it or hate it. Many say there is no 'inbetween.' In a nutshell its a book about following your dreams. If you are into books like that id say check it out it only cost me three pounds in the UK so its not expensive.

I haven't read The Alchemist, but I've read Veronika Decides to Die, and it's fantastic. I think Paulo Coelho's work can be considered sort of Universal, but it definitely gets better the more literary you are.

I actually loved this book. I started reading the book when my friends sort of had lots of status updates which were quotes from this book. My friends were even sending me text messages with quotes from this book. I finished the book in just a day during my free time and found that it was an almost impossible kind of plot but with definitely lots of words of wisdom to live by. I loved it. I would soon be reading other books by the same author ( Paulo Coelho) Hope you enjoy it.

Glad you enjoyed it. How I actually came across it was my girlfriend wanted alot of books for christmas and what not. Shes a big reader and when we were looking through books online this one was listed so she said oh get that I want to see if you'll like it, you wont find it okay you will either love or hate it. So I did and so far im enjoying it. The lesson about living your dream in the first couple of pages certainly sticks out.
