I think a reserve Wicket keeper is must for a big tournament like WC. And also Dhoni is palying continiously without rest, and sometime we have seen that he faces some back pain and hamstring. Hope it will not come again. But If there was a back up WK then he can be given chance so Dhone will get some rest. P Patel, Karthik,or Uthappa(selectors will not take him at any cost) should have been selected. Then there will be 2 spinners and 1 WK batsmen in the squad,it would have been a better one than this. What do you think.........

including 3 spinners is something more, that too when we are having 4 part timers. i think, reserve WK would have been a better option. that would have released some pressure from dhoni, and he can use him in some matches.

There is no wrong in number spinners (except Piyush Chawla) because in Indian subcontinent spinners will play an important role for sure. But yeah I agree a wicket keeper batsman would have been a better option rather than Piyush Chawla who would be playing after long gap.

There should have been a reserve keeper included in the squad and they had two good contenders for that Parthiv Patel and Dinesh Karthik , one of them deserves the place. As you said Uthappa is a very good contender even as batsman and his keeping ability is good also.

Hi ramaswami, What you have put is ok but the selectors probably had something different. Dhoni being WK captain has to be in the playing eleven. May be because of this they took this decision.
