What to do with my dog?

My dog is super noisy and keeps on barking whenever he sees people. I know I know it is normal for them to do that but we are living in a small neighborhood and it has beginning to be a disturbance to some of our neighbors. Is there a training that I can do for him, can you guys give me some tips? thanks a lot.

Hello phoebelance and welcome to myLot!
I know it must be very annoying for your neighbours to hear a dog who barks non stop. My dog didn't bark at all and we still had complains from our neighbors. Some people simply can't stand dogs.
Now, about your barking issue, assuming that you live in a house with a yard, you can try to limit your dog's access to the front gate, so that he will not see so many people to bark at. Maybe you can confine him in the back yard for the time you're not there to ask him to stop barking.
Of course, training him not to bark without a reason will be the best solution, but until then you must try to limit the number of complains coming from your neighbors.
To train him not to bark put him on a leash and as soon as he starts to bark, you tell him a firm NO and jurk the leash. The moment he stops barking, reward him with whatever he likes the most (food, a toy or even a petting). If he starts again, you repeat your actions until he understands that barking is an unwanted behaviour. The results will not appear overnight, you must exercise a lot with him.
You may want to consider an anti-barking collar, but this is something I wouldn't recommend.

Thanks a lot, i haven't been here in a while. Great advice though. I tried rewarding him and all and he isn't as noisy as before.
