Hey all, I just received the sweetest phone call I ever had on my Cell Phone.... Guess what - A kid(a daughter of my wife's friend aged 4) called me a few minutes back and here is the conversation - kid: Uncle, I need your hair me: what! why? kid: My mommy wants me to have a haircut as they dont grow fast me: oh dear, ok why do you need my hair? kid: you are a boy and boys dont have long hair... but you have and they are better than mommy's and so I need them me: so what would I do if I give you them kid: I would return you once my hair have grown like you .... I could not help but smile. Now why I am putting this one here? ok, For new family members - I had a thread on this some months back here - http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2402698.aspx and I took your advice and followed my heart. So this is to say Thanks to All who responded and the result is I got this call. Do you receive any sweet calls on your cell phone or is it just the normal - office, friends or call center guys that keep you busy? Cheers, theSids

I talk to my grandkids but mostly on my home phone. When they were here in person they were pretty sweet as well. It sounds like you have a very great relationship with this child.

My oldest grand daughter is almost five years old, the other is only one and a half years old. It seems that this little child feels some attachment to you, and that is why she called. She must see you as a very nice person.

You are right GG, she might be more attached to me as I feel that her mommy and daddy both are busy and working... The fact that I did play with her and we watched a movie together might be the reason.. But whatever, I am happy that she did remember me and got her message passed to me directly... I wished I could send your granddaughters some candy or roses this valentine... they must be cute and affectionate

HI GG I can image if your grandchildren are kids it would be really a great feeling... If I can say it here - My Late grandfather felt the same for me even when I grew up and was in my early 20s... I miss him a lot I do not have that great relation with this kid. She had visited our place once about 3 months back and that was all... during her visit we played together and I played her Bolt - the animated movie dubbed in Hindi. Then I had spoken to her once over the telephone on the new year Eve to wish her. But this incident has definitely made me feel closer to her now.

Hello Sid, I have missed that topic and thank you for providing the link here. That girl is so sweet and intelligent; she might think that you don’t deserve long hair (lol) and I may support her.

Hi Sree, Please dont support her if she thinks that I dont deserve long hair... See I have long hair and it is because of this that she called me to borrow them... Btw today they are about one inch down my shoulders and I wished they grew faster than they did last year so that I have them at least 6 inches long soon

Hi thesids, I read your post many times but failed to link the kid's conversation with you and the mylot thing. Well a kid given a cell phone can make calls but what did the kid do to be a part of mylot? Nice to hear the voice of children over phone and the puzzling thing they ask. Thanks for sharing.

Hi krajibg I think you missed out reading this part on the discussion - Now why I am putting this one here? ok, For new family members - I had a thread on this some months back here.... I took your advice and followed my heart. That is the reason I have been able to convince me that I was not wrong to think to have long hair... let it grow... If there was no long hair, there was no call. Get the connection... I take advice from my family here at MyLot and implement their suggestions/recommendations in real life as I can on many times... So this needed to be shared with the family And I think this is the first time you responded to my discussions... But you are already there on my family members list here - http://www.mylot.com/w/image/2433068.aspx

Hello thesids, One of the sweet calls that i received is when someone called because he needs someone to talk with while waiting for his rescue. He is an Indian guy who lives and work in London. One day he met a car accident,he is driving half drunk from a gathering and on his way home crashed his car and his legs are pressed on under brakes. He knows his legs are broken into pieces and he needs someone to talk with so that he can't sleep or faint while waiting for his rescue to come (needs a jack to pull him out of his car)he is a doctor so he knows that he must be awake. I can not believe while he is talking on the phone,i can feel his pain, but he keeps talking and keep begging me to talk...(how can i talk when i know he is in danger) i wanted to cry,but i need to be brave...so,okay,i keep talking to keep him awake. That's one of the sweetest and most surprising calls i ever had in my life. have a good day dear

hello again dear, yes,it's one of the sweetest call i ever had...see my heart leap a miles away upon hearing his voice. he never called me,i've known him and he asked for my phone number but he never did make a call until that day. so i never knew that it was him...and when he says his name,my heart jump out of place and when he says about his situation i could feel my heart jump to my throat . i was in shocked for a while, can't speak ..i was thinking was i been dreaming or i am just sick? (i touched my forehead wishing i am having a fever,as high as the sky..but no ..i am not sick) he has broken legs and like i told you,he is a doctor and he is working in one of the best hospital in London,so..every bones were fixed as if nothing happens. actually i missed him

sometimes its hard to understand the crazy ideas kids say but its kinda cute. sadly because of my Job for 6 years phone calls I get are more like this one: Me: Thanks you for calling ______company how may I help you? Customer: *%$#@*!!! I want my money back, You guys are stupid, I want to talk to your supervisor *&^%$@ !!! Me: I understand how you feel, but it is my job to assist you and I was trained to help you out with your concerns.....blah blah blah -

Hiya Captain, Ok, Give me the Number I would give you a call... Believe you would have a Toll Free Number and ask them to re-direct to you and then I can give you some good time on the discussion - a good call - for some refreshment and a change... Seriously: Yes, I know those kind of calls... I was with one of the Customer Care centers and they are really hurting at times

@Kul: I remeber I was given an intensive training on such issues... Here they ask you to play first the role of the customer and hereyou are asked to go all out and abuse in whatever language you can... then this gets recorded and later when you play the customer care / support executive they playback this to you and need you to respond...

Hi Eshaan, No she is a different girl. The earlier one was my niece. But she is the daughter of one of my wife's friends. The best thing is that kids are innocent and their activities make us feel that we are grown up and should not be doing anything similar....... but I do such things occasionally and so feel more happy when they do it to me

Calls and communication with kids aging...say between 3-6 always bring a smile and fun. Probably because of their ignorance in many things, and the way they express what they feel. You're story reminds me of my niece. 5 years back then, when she is just 4 years old, we're on our way home from malling, and made me struck when she told me that she wants me to be her mama. I ask her the reason why? Because, she said: "I don't want my mama anymore, she's so huge and fat, she's like a pig". Even the driven took a glance to us and smile. Now that I'm getting fat and reminds her of what she said before makes me smile. Sometimes, it feels like if we want to get rid of the problems we're going through, try to take time chatting with kids and for sure it will make us alive.

Hi SimpleBB, They are honest and innocent - this makes the kids wonderful and more lovable. They can do many things that we grownups cannot do even if we want to do because if we do that people would take otherwise. This became a joke and many a times my dad still mentions this not only in the family but also sometimes when he is with friends... I was thin from my early childhood and once one of our guests had asked me - "Why Are you Thin? Your parents and younger brother are healthy but you look starved..." and I had replied - "They eat up everything and there is nothing left for me to eat"... I was about 4 or 5 then... just wondering if I did mention anything like this to anyone today at 36

Hi Sids, that was so sweet. It's so cute when small children ask funny things that we can't answer directly. Well, i have never got any such sweet calls, the sweetest i have ever got was only from a female customer care executive.

There is this uncle's son who is very small. One day he was saying to his dad that he wanted to eat dog meat! Omg, that was so funny because he seemed quite serious. What was going in his mind.

Hi Voldrox small children ask funny things that we can't answer directly Our being social and thoughts that what would others think at times comes to play spoiled sport here for sure...and also we already have lost the innocence long back when we stepped into the real world of make belief... I wish you get at least one such call... soon.... female customer executives.... I dont know why but when the customer care executives call up they seem so very interested in us but when we call back ...

Hello, Sids. You had me really curious that I read the link to your previous discussion. Hmmm... so you followed what the guy said, huh, and I believe it is really what your heart wants.. I think you were double compensated for doing so. First you got what you want then you got this. My phone was broken and until now it was not fixed yet.:( Hubby did try to have it fixed but I guess, we need to buy a new one... Anyways, I'm not expecting any calls ,though, except for an occasional text from my daughter who is living with my parents in the province. I never get to have a lot of phone calls but the sweetest ones are always from my kids or from my hubby.THe latter do not usually text or call but when he does, it is always asking us how we are or telling us what he has been up to, and of course, the I love you. ;) .

Hi eurekafemme, I feel lucky and blessed by being here at Mylot because I see things from a different perspective and am happy to have found friends who are there to help me in making some of my decisions. I am lucky to have got the two things as you point out and so felt that I should thank all those who helped me take that decision earlier. I hope you get your phone soon and yes, you never know when you get a call as sweet as this (or may be sweeter)... If it happens, I would love to read and share the happiness with you

The little girl so cute for talking like that, I haven't receive a call like this but I remember one time me and my neighbor together with her 5 year old daughter ride on a jeep and she saw a baby on the jeep wanting to touch the baby, she told to her mom to make a baby also, we smile and her mother nod at her.

Hello there my dear friend! I didn't know you have a long hair, lol! So this picture of you in your avatar is old. Hmmmm..I wonder how you look like with a long hair?My hubby likes to have a long hair but I don't,he looks so untidy as he has an oily face and long bangs makes it more untidy looking on him. That's why he is always in a short hair, lol! Little kids really makes us smile all the time. Yes,I always recieve sweet calls from my nieces,I have lots of nieces of different ages and they are all sweet! They always make me smile! See yah!

Hi mtr, Yes, I have longer hair now Actually I had longer hair when I was at College and since then my profession needed me to have tidy() hair - Teacher in Computers you know! Now I work at home and can have the freedom and choice of my own... So I opted for long hair... But yes, I have oily skin and oily hair too... Quite difficult for me to manage but have learned over the last couple of months to manage them better.. I would get a good pic and upload it as my Avatar - wait till I either get myself a camera or someone gets my pic.
