Jennifer Lopez as a judge?

Hmmm. To be honest with you, I think that Jennifer Lopez is a lot better than Paula Abdul. That's just my opinion. With regards to having JLO as the new judge in American Idol, I think that there are better singers than her but that doesn't make her less of a judge. As a total performer, JLo is really awesome. She can sing, dance and has that ex-factor as they say or else she wouldn't have made it so big in the industry. By the way, judging means, you have to be a good critic, good listener and as impartial as possible to be an effective judge in contest like these. Let's just wait and see how she will do.

i haven't seen Jennifer long enough to judge her as a judge. she was having a problem with saying no. i hope she can get over this because this is the position of a judge. i think she is very talented both musically and as an actress. we shall see how she continues on.

I honestly haven't even bothered to watch American Idol. I stopped watching it a few seasons ago. I didn't think it was right the way they were letting a handful of really bad singers through to the judges just for the ratings. I think it was wrong to get their hopes up like that and let them go through round after round and thinking they were good to be completely crushed by the judges. I think that really there isn't any judges that can compare to the original three. Jennifer Lopez may not be the greatest singer, but she has been in the music business for a number of years so I'm sure she has some insight at least.

It's too soon to tell with Lopez whether she'll be a good judge. It looked to me, judging by the two episodes I've seen of the auditions, that she wanted to put everybody through to Hollywood. I wanted Elton John as a judge, but who knows? Maybe Simon got him for his show X Factor. I heard Lopez had already been tapped by Simon to be a judge on his show, but she backed out. 12 million. Sheesh!

Jennifer Lopez is a total performer and I think that's why she's American Idol's next judge. Although she doesn't have the killer voice, she's got onstage charm. Sometimes it's not just the voice. I'm wondering though if American Idol will finally have a judge who actually won the competition. c

greetings! so far she's ok. i think she's better than paula, with all the ramblings before. and i agree, she doesn't have the credibility as a singer per se, but she could help in spotting a star.
