birthmarks

In our country, people believe that what conceiving mothers crave for will appear in the child when born. For instance, a mother craved for cashew fruit when she was conceiving and the baby came out with a red lump on her head. The mother attributed this to her craving for cashew when she was conceiving. I really don't believe in this though I have one like story. My mother had this craving for red roses when she was conceiving me and she would pass by a bush of red roses on her way for work and pick one red rose. That was her story. Well I have this rose petal edge on both ears. I used to jokingly tell my mother that it would be easy for her to identify me through my ears should I get lost. How about you, do you have a like story?

That is indeed interesting. Well i don't have any story that is more or less the same as what you have shared. And i don't know if my mom was craving something when I was still in her womb. My birthmarks doesn't have any form at all so I don't know really if my mom has cravings at all..But i will ask her anyway when i get home.

Hello gaiza. It could be fun...I remember my classmates trying to look for birthmarks and tell a story about it. My daughter has been asking me what her birthmark is as her classmates kept talking about it and she could not share anything. Though I could not see any scientific basis for it. Just for fun. Cheers gaiza.

I guess it's more fun to believe this then that birth marks are just genes.

I agree it is fun, savypat. I remember my classmates of eons ago () saying..."Oh! so that is why I am fair" etc. And at the time we truly believed it. The follies of youth. Thanks for your response and have a nice day ahead savypat.

That's interesting. My birth mark looked like a strawberry so maybe there is something too it. I'll ask my mom if she was craving strawberries during her pregnancy.

Interesting isn't it though it could be an old wives' tales. It would depend which country you are. Mine are full of beliefs and traditions and this is one of those. Thanks for your response and a happy weekend missa.

I have never heard of that.I make bold to say It gives a strained interpretation, even It sounds as if It is superstition. The reason is simple, mother's thoughts isn't inheritable.
