What is the concept of vaction(rest) and work to you??

hello friends , what is the concept of vacation(rest) and work to you? today i met someone who said "most of the people work so they can get to a vacation/rest" then he continued saying "it would be good if your res so you can do better at your work. not to work so you can rest." somehow it really change the concept of rest and work to me. im just really amazed with that person. how about you guys? what is rest and work to you?
