From out of the ashes..

Friends are a bloody wonderful thing... For the knowing I'm just recently returned to the world of internetting. What kept me away was a bout with congestive heart failure in September when I finally (after a 2 ½ month stubborn wore off) went to the hospital and a total lack of interest for some time after getting home again. Of course, I'm not working, which puts a mighty strain on everything and especially Liz and, if for no other reason than Liz, I'm gonna fuss for a bit. Again, for the knowing, I worked up until I couldn't which, I've been told, was quite too much longer than I should have and because of it tried to get what help that I could. Thinking on it the word fiasco comes to mind.. Luckily my brother is graciously paying our rent or we'd be on the street. Liz's retirement of about $650 covers everything else and not too well either and with me being on a special diet because of the heart condition..(shrug)..Now here's the fuss..This system of ours, the one that's rumored to be '..of, by and for the people' that has so willingly taken my tax dollars has refused me food stamps. I guess straight white boys don't count, unless, of course, they're working. Insofar as the disability claim started with the lawyer some months ago there is no record of me with the SSA, even tho the lawyers sent my paperwork 'REGISTERED MAIL'. Which means that someone misplaced my case..hmm..and everything is put back by 4 months..Good fun, huh?..And the social/religious charities? Well, aside from the ones that out and out ignored my plea for assistance there's the ones that had the audacity to send me information on where I should send my donation. As I said at the beginning..Friends are a bloody wonderful thing..Without them this whole fiasco would have been quite worse..First, my brother paying our rent..Liz's clients who have bought us groceries, lent us money and one couple even provided a complete Christmas dinner for us..And Liz's online friends..people we have never met except thru avatars and common interest have sent us food and money with one lady working an extra day to have something to send! It blows my little mind right outta the back of my head..The folks you don't ask of provide so readily and easily and the folks who you expect it of, who you've supported in the past, tell you where to go and when to leave.. Okay, so how about you? Comments on friends, the ^%$&*$$$ $ystem What are your thoughts?

Hiya greenfeathers, Although I can´t make any comments on your Health System and Insurance as it works a bit different here. Will say it´s very nice to see you back and although you are in difficulties moneywise I hope that things will get much better for you and you recover completely. Thank goodness too for the People that you have had around you that have helped you out in a lot of ways. The ones you expect it of very often don´t support you all the time that is true. That must hurt a lot too. Get better quick Greenfeathers.

It hurts for a minute. But I gotta think about Liz which motivates me to search out other resources and try to get my creative juices running and my artist talents working into cash flow. Tho I go thru depression quite a bit the stubborn won't allow it to be more than short term.. Thanks for coming by..Enjoy!
