Cats and Baths

So I know that generally speaking, cats hate getting wet. My cat, Bunny, however loves jumping in the shower with me and doesn't mind getting baths at all. Yesterday I gave her a bath and she just stood there in the bathtub while I washed and rinsed her and then bundled her up in a towel. Does anyone else have cats that don't mind or even love the water? Or do I just have the weirdest cat ever? :)

I gave a kitten to a friend and this kitten, Leela, loved baths! I have an online friend who's cat, Weasley, loves to get in the shower with her - don't know if he'd let her soap and rinse him tho... I wonder if Bunny has any Turkish Van in her... they are called "the swimming cat" because they like water... Weasley is a Savannah or a Bengal I think and Leela was a rescued stray, so that doesn't mean any old cat might like water. Oliver, the black and white kitten in my avatar will walk into my shower, but if he thinks the water is too close, he's OUT OF THERE!

I'm not sure what Bunny is - some kind of angora I would think because of her long hair and extremely long, fluffy tail. She was a stray kitten that I adopted from a local shelter. Glad to hear that mine isn't the only weird one out there though!

Thanks for the link! That's actually exactly what she looks like (the black and white one) and I've always thought it was so strange how incredibly long and puffy her tail is! It really does look like a fox tail as they described it

sounds like she might have some Turkish Van in her... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turkish_Van

all i can say is that you are a lucky person to have a cat like that.

Thanks! I'd have to say so too. She has long hair and even though she's strictly an indoor cat, she still gets pretty dirty at times so it's definitely nice to not have to fight with her to give her a bath!

I wouldn't say our cats "love" water but they tolerate being bathed. My cat likes to be dried off, my husbands cat hates it.
