Hi everyone. How are you? Me... have a busy schedule so less time on mylot. Okay, yesterday was the worst day of 2011 to me. Perhaps most of you know that i have to travel almost 100kms per day due to my job and i do travel by local train. Most local trains are cancelled from last Saturday to next. Again all the mail and express trains are running at only day time. So, my train is also cancelled and i boarded on a bus. The bus was full of crowd and i had to travel in standing position all the 100kms. So, its a totally annoyance and embarrassed tour which leaded me to body pain. The reason of cancellation is Republic day. The republic day of india is 26th january. my state government does not wish to take risk with the availability of trains because the extremists are all around. Bomb blasting, throwing can be happened on trains or tracks. So they have decided for the cancellation and travelers are all in problem. So, is it a republic day? YOu know this day is already banned here by extremists and some organizations so that no one can come out and celebrate this day. From my childhood we have been being at home at that day as it is dead day in my state.( same to independence day) Your comments....? How do your share it? Thanks in advance.

Hi Shibham, A bunch of insane guys do get a control of many things... Thanks to our Indian Government. They are responsible for this mess. I dont know what effect this is going to have in the long run and I am worried now as my dad is traveling to Delhi via train today to attend my cousin's marriage on 27th. I know that the trains will halt and not move the night and that adds to my worries. I also feel for you and many of my countrymen who stay in these areas - so called - North Eastern India and also the J&K. It is high time you guys led a normal life. I wish I could do something

Hi sids... I did not think that same condition is running other than north east. As you have said that you are worried for your father as his train is also running only at day time. I don't know why our govt. take a strict step towards it as we have been suffering fro birth. I agree to some extend that there is no difference between those two said areas by you. Take care.

Hi Shibham, I am confused and I really don’t know whom to blame. If we think about the government part, they want to avoid the unfortunate incidents like throwing a bomb in train so they think better to stop the service. At the same time they are making the people uncomfortable by not providing the transport for their travel. It simply proves that the government is a failure to protect the life of common people. Then why they want to hang out on Rule. It is sad indeed to be in such a situation, where all Indians are happily celebrating the Republic day and some people are facing bitter experiences on that day. Here in the capital the personnel are already in road for quiet sometime as a security measurement. They are stopping every vehicle for checking and in buses they are asking passengers to find out if there are any packets or something left unattended. There is some traffic diversions due to the rehearsal for republic day otherwise no inconvenience is in this place for public.

Hi sree... Whom to blame???? Our government. They actually dont know to whom kick off and next to accept. Why only Assam is suffering from this. It seems that either our state govt. is week than other states or central govt. is over looking Assam. There are extremists almost in maximum states of India but general people is not threatened by them. Why????? Yeah, i know what goes on other places of india as these are telecasted via television. Have a nice day.

India has another thing in common with Australia other than cricket - Australia Day is tomorrow (January 26). I hope nothing major happens in India tomorrow...I don't get how the extremists have fun doing the damage that they do.

Hiya shibs, December the 6th is the Day indicated for this kind of thing. It´s supposed to celebrate the coming together of all of Spain in a Democratic Way. Really it would not be called Republic Day but El Dia de la Constitución as it reunites both sides and all offended and outsided Parties and Groups of People. It´s a National Holiday here that Day but really no one and sad to say takes much notice of it in spite of all the suffering their Grandfathers went through to get to this stage. Really I don´t blame the Indian Government for not taking chances either. Sorry your Journey was so bad I can well imagine as I have been on a Bus Journey of a about two thousand miles and it is really exhausting. The Bus was very packed so you had to keep getting up too to stretch your legs and move around to wake up. The Holiday we have here is really absorbed by Christmas goings on and celebrations so I really would move it to another Day of the Year and maybe it would or might hopefully make People stop and think a little about all the sacrifice of People that helped to make Spain what it is. Spain is far from perfect but it has much better conditions than before. Spanish Civil War was quite a terrible one only the People who went through it knows what I am saying here. My Husband´s own Family were more than touched by it too. People accused each other falsely and things like that. Better left to rest all those memories but to celebrate that Day properly might make it all worth while. You see December the 6th falls between two major Holidays and although it´s a Holiday in itself only a very few will even think of what it means as Christmas is prevalent all over the place. Take care now.

Hiya shibs, That´s good then if I have helped you a bit further in that. I still think that they could move that special Day out of Christmas and put it into another Month further towards the Summer when everyone has more time to think about those things. Spain is a very beautiful Country to visit shibs it has so much variety too in Towns and Villages and customs. You have a nice Day too. Take care now.xxx

Ya It's a Republic day tomorrow. All the Indians get the freedom in real means on republic day. It's one of the most memorable day of the life of Indians. So everyone of us has to celebrate this day in any situation whether one have a lot of work left or have to go somewhere.

I don't know anything about Republic day, but I was wondering why you travel so far to go to work. Can you move closer to your job? That seems like an awfully long commute...

I'm sorry to hear that you and your people are threatened during this holiday or any other time. People should be able to live without such fears. I do hope that there comes a time when a train ride to work doesn't generate fear or threat for you and others. Take care.

Sorry to hear about the cancellation of your day of celebration in India. That is not good a t all for the spirit of the people. Days like these are very important for the unity of the people in my opinion. It is Australia Day here in Australia today. It was January 26th in 1788 that the British landed on the beaches of Sydney and settled Australia for good. Aboriginals use this day as a day of mourning and call it Invasion Day. Mostly it is a day of celebration and unity as people from all walks of life get together to enjoy the day with family and friends.

Yes friend. It's all the matter of frustration here in my locality. Where all indians are rejoicing on the eve of republic day, there we are bound to be prisoned at home.Is it called independent? I know all of you are joyous on these type of events and i too wish but no way either. anyway have a great day always.
