My brother in law is a chef at a large fancy hotel in our downtown area. So we occasionally get a treat when he decides to cook a meal. He made a dish called "Chicken Vindaloo" recently. It was a mild curry dish. I have to say it was YUMMY! Have you tried any curry dishes? I liked this one so much I found a recipe for it online.

Hi ersmommy, India is a vast country and has lots and lots of variety of food with nearly every state has its own cuisine so you can see how much food dishes we have. For me the best dishes are 1. Chicken Biryani 2. Tandoori chicken 3. Butter Chicken & Nan 4. Chole Bhature And then to in desert i love to have rasogulla ( cold) in summers and hot Gulab jamun or gajar ka halwa.

Wow! I am going to look those up. I can either give the dishes to my brother in law to cook, or try to prepare them myself! Thanks!!

Nope I've never tried Indian food. I don't know if I would like it or not. Perhaps if it was something w/o curry? Though we do have a small Indian population here as there is a company in the area that employees & sponsors many people from India.

I don't cook it but my wife does. I did make a dish one time with some panara it was pretty good, it was a bit too spicy for the kids. My wife makes butter chicken. It tastes really good, I actually like hers better then the butter chicken at restaurants. She has also made Vindaloo before, it was good but she made it at the same time as she did the butter chicken and everyone loves the butter chicken so it didn't go over as well as it would have if she had just made it alone.
