Hi to all MyLotters, I'm planning on establishing a business but I'm still choosing between the two; food or garments business. For you, what business would go best in the long run? Thanks and happy MyLotting to all.

Hi,friend,i think food business will be much better than garment business. You know, no matter there is economic crisis or not, we need food. But in economic crisis, we could not buy new clothes for some time. And in my view, to establish a food business needs less money than garment business. Furthermore, if the garment is out of date, it will be hard to sell out. Well, of course, not fresh food is also hard to sell out. But compared to garment, the losses is much less. And to start a food business, the most important is to ensure the sanitation and food safety. The next important thing is to try to make delicious food. Wish you succeed.

Agree with you, if the food is not fresh is hard to sell but if the garment is out of date and you sell it cheap there will still be people buying it as not all the people like to stay up to date.

Think of it this way you always have to have food and if its good then ppl will travel to you. Now on the garment side they can always find the same clothes across the street or in other dept. stores that you would have to compete with. Mytocents would go for food.

As for me, I would rather open a business for food. Because its consumable. While if garments people dont keep buying garments.

Well if you ask me, I would go for food. Why? Simply because all people consume food everyday so it males food a better investment. But please keep in mind that consumers consider the following: price taste sanitation and service If all of the above requirements are met well, then you'll be successful!

Hi. I was studying business in college. The best thing to do, and it is costly but will pay off in the long run, is to hire industrial psychologists to do a survey of the area. Many small businesses fail because they do not survey the area they are going to put a business in. Before you begin your business, take some business classes to learn more about running a business. This will help to insure your success. Ask your local municipality for help in deciding what kind of business would do well in the community. They may be able to give you some pointers, and just possibly may help you get a grant to survey the town and surrounding towns.

Business is a matter of passion. What you love to do and what you enjoy the most. You won't last the headache when it's already running amidst if you are not 101% committed to it. So I suggest, go with something that is part of your skill set. The chance of success on this is greater than choosing a business you're not really so familiar with. I started online business April 2010 selling china made garments. Honestly, profit yields not that much though there are few exceptional instances. Ever since, I love window shopping and I think this is one of the key factors why until now I am still on this business no matter how hard it may seem at most times. Later on, who knows, this might get bigger and better?
