Wedding Budget

I am on an extremely small budget for my upcoming wedding. I, personally, don't mind having a small wedding b/c it is, after all, one day. However, sometimes I get the inkling to have a huge dream wedding. For those of you that spent a lot of money on your wedding, was it worth it?

We in fact spent more than we thought we would. We planned it to be a small wedding but it reached more than 300 guests. Family and community matters in occassions like this because specially here in the Philippines, you just don't marry the person; you marry his/her family, friends, community, everyone... I am looking at out wedding picture hanging on our wall now and - yes it was worth it. It wasn't just a celebration of our love but a celebration of love of our families and friends and our community.

I did not spend a lot of money on my wedding but I still wanted to respond. We spent $500.00 for the entire day. That included the dress and the rings and everything between. We are fortunate to have some great family and friends and I reached out to different ones for their help. We had people cooking food and making decorations. Friends did the hair and made the "shoes". We gathered seashells as table pieces and made a few play lists to play at the reception. If you don't have a huge budget you can still make a very beautiful wedding day, you just have to be more creative and not get sucked into the hype. Best of luck to you and yours!
