Health problem with my cat - can't go to the toilet

Hello friends, since yesterday i am sad, my cat is sick. 
Even if my mother care for her from one year now, i still miss him every day and i love to go home and to see his strong character.
Now he is sick. He can't pee ans the doctors told me that the food is the reason. He is very pretentious cat and he doesn't eat so much - only canned fish, dry Royal Canin for castrated cats and salami sometimes. I read a lot about this problem and understood that male cats just can't absorb the food they eat, doesn't matter what is the food. I read a lot about what kind of water cats must drink and why my Shone has that problem. The vet told me it's because of the dry food, but time ago i tried to make him eat canned cat food on the best brands - Royal Canin and Hills, but he doesn't like the taste or just he is used to eat dry food, i don't know. He had about 10 canned kinds with good cat food, i had to give them to our dog.
Many people say that Hills is a food which doesn't bring health problems to the cats. Even when he back legs was broken i gave him Hills and he was o.k., but one day i read that Royal Canin is better and i changed the food. He is only 3 years old, he is not old cat, so it's strange that he has that kind of health problems - usually people ask me if he is old and that's the reason for his illness, but no he is not old.
He can't pee since 3 days - vet made him 3 injections yesterday and 3 today in the morning, my mom said that he peed in the early morning before the vet comes, then did it from fear when the vet was at home, in my mom's hands. Vet told her that it's only from the dry food, but as i know - high class food are not a reason for that kind of problems. Now my mom boil him water and give him to drink it, because it may be the reason - something we have little sands in our water, i suggested her to not give him fish (i don't know why, just people who cared for cats long time say that fish is not good food) and also he will stop the dry food soon.
I am worried for one thing and it's because i'm not there. I live far from them and i have no chance to help with money or staying around Shone, even if i wish.
I hope that these 6 injections will help him, because if they don't help, he will need catheter and all will be much more expensive.

Oh Suggar how sad to read about your cat. I am so sorry he is ill and not healthy and playful as he has been. Keep hope sweetie and pray that he gets better. Pray that the injections turn him around and he can become himself again.
I too will pray and have hope that he does as it sounds like you care for him very much. Cats are like children that when they are sick they are quiet and sleep very much. I will pray for him my sweet suggar.

Thank you HardWorking, my mom called, he is bit better today.
Second injections helped and vet told her to call in monday if there is something... But she said that today he peed 2 times so far and it's still afternoon here, so that's more than better. Thanks a lot for your support, i played last night too and i was happy to understand that today he is better, because if he wasn't i don't know what my mom could do - it's sunday here and our vet doesn't work.

Male cats are very prone to urinary tract problems. Crystals build up in the uretha and must be expressed by a doctor as they block the passage and the cat cannot pee even when he wants to and tries. Over the years I have lost two cats to this. It is a very dangerous condition and frequently fatal if not corrected in time. Try to buy cat food specifically for urinary tract health and without too much ash in the food. My three cats eat lots of fish in canned food and are all healthy, so I don't think fish is your problem.
You might want to change vets for a second opinion. I sincerely hope that your cat can recover soon and be the healthy, playful pet that you remember once again.

I've tried many canned food specially for cats. He doesn't want to eat it. Tuna or others, i thought it will be interesting for him if he tries different tastes, but nothing in the past. So i stopped buying things which he doesn't eat.
I know about the crystals and many vets told me that he doesn't have to eat cheap fry food, that's why i was buying Royal Canin - it's expensive and good class food, other vets told me with that food my cat won't have problem, but still there it is ...
I'm waiting my mom to call me in the afternoon and to tell me how he is. He was very restless around 12:00. He peed two times since this morning, but still it looked like he got pains down and can't calm down and sleep.
I hope he is better now.

Very interesting topic. Just by reading through the discussion I've acquired quite a handful of knowledge.
I've done a search as well & found that the average life span of a cat is about 12-15 years. There has been some that can live up to 20+, even a few have recorded over 30 years. The problem with your cat sounds very much like the dog we used to have. It could be something to do with the liver or kidney, I can't remember exactly which. She couldn't really pee but she was already old & we knew that internally she was failing due to the food & care by so many previous slack owners. Well, at least she had a blast whe she was with us

Thank you about that Zweeb, in my country everything is kind of business. Even i read cruel stories with cats and vets who doesn't do their job useful for the pets, just to take money from the owners. I can say that every kind of information online has double interest ... I read so much about cats when i took mine, about the food, about everything needed, but still he had this problem even eating the best cat food. So why are the big brands promoting their products if it will has that effect, i don't get it 
Sounds fake information ...
The most important is that my cat is better now, thanks a lot that you read everything in the discussion. I hope there won't be kidneys problems, because here vets take so much money for surgery and so on ....

I hope your cat will recover soon.In fact I have never raised pets,and I have no experiences about that,sorry.
