what's happening to our world?

recently, worldwide catastrophes are on the news.. what's happening to our world? is it going to be like the movie "the day after tomorrow"? only slower?

There have been catastropies in different parts of the region around the world these days. It is very pathetic indeed to see people suffering as a result of those catastrophies. I admire the international organizations who are helping the victims of the catastrophies.
