Wii Speak

I've heard a little about Wii Speak and saw it at gamestop so I did a little research. I found out that it's like a mic you use on xbox 360 or ps3 or something except it's on top of your T.V instead of on your head. This sounded cool at first but then I found out it's only compatible with 1 game so for (animal crossing). they do have the Wii Speak Channel which allows you to talk to other friends who have wii speak, but none of my friends have it and you can't talk to random people, only friends. So I don't really think it's worth it, but what do you think? and if you've used it, was it actually worth it?

I don't like to use wii speak, there are more games where you can use it for then just animal crossing, but almost nobody uses it. I've readed somewhere that Nintendo tells game devolpers to stop using wii speak and that they need to use a headbanger set (In games like the conduit 2)

Nintendo didn't really do the best job with that compared to other consoles. I never got Wii Speak because it didn't seem very good. I hope the new Wii will have some kind of better communication then that.
