What is your Understanding of The Illuminati?

The possible existence of this Organization always fascinated me so I was really anxious to learn what others knew or understood about this secretive group.
Anyone willing to share what they know or belief about the Illuminati? Is it Political, religious, satanic, extra-terrestrial, multi-dimensional? Or maybe a combination of a number of these, or something I've forgotten to mension. I know that lately that there are well known person in different walks of life who admits that they are a member. Up to the President, Prime Minister, Artist, Writers, Businessman they do have. I check the official website of Illuminati, and I was really surprised to saw some familiar names in both politics, business and hollywood.
I was curious indeed if they are really enlightened of the beliefs of this group. Because if they are, it might be possible for me, living a normal life can join this.

i really don't know if any info about that group is true, i mean, maybe the only way to know is to be part of them, and if that's the case, i'd rather not know.... coz i think once you're a part of any "secret society", they may help you become successful but they want something in return for it, and you may have to do it, even if it goes against your conscience or they kill you *i dont know*
i don't believe they are the only "enlightened" ones
