I really love to find a meditative state in anything I do. When you can just breathe slowly and release your external thoughts so as to allow for your true inner voice to direct yourself to your true pure and positive inner being. Does anyone else feel this when meditating or focusing on deep breathing?

Yes! I just wish I meditated more often. I know that it can clear your mind and help you think and be, and just be so healthy for you... but it's like exercise. Just one of those things you keep putting off- but when you start it and make a habit out of it, it can be so beneficial!

Thats exactly right! I used to meditate and do yoga a couple of years ago, and then recently I became very enthusiastic and energetic about the two, realizing that they should be a part of my life, which created my habit of doing them.

I meditate two to three times each and every day. With all the stress in today's world it is one thing that can keep me healthy and calm. I find so many people turning toward this practise just to survive the constant state of emotional upheaveal that surrounds us. I do however, feel this is a practise of mind control having little or nothing to do with belief or religion. It's a tool available to all.

Congrats on your daily practice. It is the greatest tool to practice emotional control, but I believe its because it truly gets us in touch with our inner self. It gets us to believe in our inner spirit that is pure, positive and connected to all of the universe. Like yoga, meditation focuses on connectedness with the true life force of the universe. I believe it and through universal signs in my life I know it to be true. The signs are the ways that I feel when I say that I believe in my true pure inner self. It feels great!

Well, our true self is always pure, positive and peaceful. Our daily affairs drift us away from our true self. Meditation is the way to get that back. It actually feels like coming home. But you can't come home until you are free from all the obligations you have at your workplace. Through meditation you liberate yourself from all that. Your mind floats in the vast ocean of nothingness. It's a very comfortable feeling of having no feeling at all. So the first step of meditation is to free yourself from all the thoughts that weigh you down, shackle you and make you immovable. This is not quite easy, but with constant practice one can reach a state like that, through meditation.

Beautifully put. Thats what I meant by it bringing out your pure positive self. Not that it removes obstacles but rather gives you an openness of spirit and emotional state that feels so blissful and carefree. I'm glad to hear that theres another believer on mylot!
