The best thing I use for my heartburn is baking soda. Look at the side of the box and it will tell you how much to use. I suffer from a lot of digestive problems as well as heartburn, and it helps it all. And in case you do have stomach problems, try sucking on peppermint ( natural ), it really works wonders. Hope it gets better.

You know I actually tried the baking soda like 10 minutes ago and now I feel a whole lot better! Thanks for the information. May God bless you.

I am glad to hear that. It is something that most have on hand, and it is much cheaper than medication.

Hi treedezy, you are not the only one :(... Some of my family members are suffering from it too. As I was trying to help them searching online I came across a blog with some interesting posts about heartburn remedies. http://foodforheartburn.blogspot.com/

I am suffering the same. I remember though that whenever i am too full after eating it attacks really bad. So maybe you can try not to eat ton much in one sitting. Also try to lessen sodas, sour treats and spicy foods.

Hello, treedezy....I also have acid reflux. Sometimes if left untreated it will lead to esophageal stricture which may require surgery. I have received some relief from the OTC acid blockers such as Tagamet and Zantac (don't remember the generic names but there are several available in generic), raising head of the bed on 6" blocks (which helped greatly, avoiding foods with high acid content (as much as I like orange juice I had to stop), and staying upright after eating. Usually one has to use a combination of remedies. If you are severely affected I would suggest consulting a physician.

take a lot of vegetable and fruits in the form of salad. Eat foods that are easily digestible. say no to deep fried foods and oily foods. Also watch your diet and you can identify whichever things hurt you badly and avoid them in the future. Always have a gelusil or digene tablet with you.

Hi! Have you tried Maalox? It is what the doctor prescribed for my acid reflux and avoid spicy food the most.
