I just got my certificate recently to be a medical claims & billing specialist. I am wondering if anyone has had any success at this working from home. Many offices want a few years experience? My goal is to do it from home....but how?

I have worked in the Medical field and medical insurance industry for several years. I can tell you that most surgeons particularly want the experience as denied claims can become a major loss for them. Sure their are appeals but successful appeals come from gained experience and medical astute suaveness. Home medical billing is a bit harder as most will want to see past experience and reputation. It is not impossible as of course you do have to start somewhere, however most offices opt to getting billing services by word of mouth. So you will have to do the extra leg work in getting your name and experience out there. I would advise that you start with the small doctors offices and build up reputation that way and continue moving upward. Do consistent mailing about your services and at times visit some offices with the offering of your services. Best of luck as it is quite rewarding.
