setting up meta tag in your webpage, make sure the keyword in your meta tag is match with your blog content. However to getting traffic from search engine is a little bit harder because there are a huge number of blog with the same content in this world.
Like you said before its easier to getting traffic from social networking site like facebook,twitter,etc.
