Do you advise newbies using your experience as a basis?

Whenever a newbie post a discussion like "What are the best ways to earn online?", I usually check the answers that MyLotters provide. Well, there are some MyLotters who provide sound suggestions and if you check the profile of the one who provided the answer, you'll see that he/she is really earning from it. Unfortunately, I do see A LOT of suggestions that are very generic like "create a blog, put ads and earn from it" and when you see the profile of the one who suggested that he/she doesn't even have a blog/website or if he/she does have one, you'll see that the site's rank at alexa is nothing to be proud of. Sometimes it's even newly put up. Other people just simply provide a ref link or say something like "check my profile".

Interesting topic! When I see a user asking for advice, if it is a generic question then I help them and base my advice on my own experiences. If it is more specific and I have no knowledge on the matter, then often I am aware of a user who could help them and I will point them in that direction, either by adding them as a friend and pointing out the user or by contacting the user myself and telling them that their help is required. If they are asking about myLot then I will help and share as much as I can, either in the dicussions if we can stay within the Guidelines (and hopefully others will read and it will help them too) or through PMs. I too see those users who just grab a chance to gain a referral and that is so disappointing, especially when it is someone new to online activities and is threfore vulnerable, that is asking the question.

True, usually newbies will believe everything since the excitement of knowing they can earn online is there. But once they get burned, they'll be the first to say SCAM all over the place. So I believe senior online money makers have moral obligation to ensure that newbies only join sites that are legit, paying and something that they really can do.

I advice newbies only on the basis of my experience. I don't like telling something which do not know. Also I rarely say 'check my profile' because I believe if we are really helpful then they will naturally come and check our profile and become our referral, no need to force them

Sadly though, some of the newbies are lured by those links since they're not quite familiar of the rules and how to check profiles and all that. It's also sadder if a newbie is lured to a scam site by another newbie.

This is because there are no other ways to answer the question I think. I also believe that this is how they earned money online that is why, it is easy to suggest for newbies to try it to. It is easier to suggest what you have already experienced than to site what you did not go through. It might turn out bad and you would be blamed.

We were all "newbies" once and still are in various forms, unless we've actually achieved our online goals. lol. That's what I always focus on when giving "advice". Basically, I tell it like it is....or was for me with any particular program. I have no problem telling about my own experience with things. Maybe it'll help somebody. I wish somebody had done that for me when I first started my online money making adventure. In most cases I've found that people would rather believe all the "hype" they see or the fake payment proofs of things rather than actually "listen" to a real person's experience. I NEVER direct anybody to my profile and I always give the main website link in response to their questions. That's just me. I'm not here on myLot to get referrals, although I know many people are. I'm here to learn and share whatever knowledge I've got and, hopefully, make a little pocket change while doing it (meaning my myLot payout)! lol. I only reply to discussions in the money making arenas when I've had an experience with something somebody is asking about. That's it. Nothing more. Sad thing is that there are so many people who are so "desperate" to get referrals that they'll say anything in the hope that somebody will sign up under them! Just not my way.....

I will only name and describe sites that I have honestly earned from and am confident that I can suggest them, as I do have several referrals elsewhere and would not want to fool anyone and taint my reputation. As for those who Other people just simply provide a ref link or say something like "check my profile". I hope they realize that it goes against the guidelines and their responses will get deleted. I would never direct anyone to my profile as I do value my membership here and would hope not to be suspended.
