What's so special?

I think it's just overrated. We have coffee shops here in our city and could really compete to what Starbucks could offer, sometimes even better and taste yummier! I believe people love it because a lot of celebrities patronize it. :D

I do think they have good blends of coffee flavored drinks but their "straight" coffee isn't all that better than any other coffee places or even some corner stores... I've been drinking 15+ cups of coffee a day for little over 20 years & I've had better... I go their when I wanna get some work done & other days just to hang out with a friend... I get their extra coffee frap with 2 shots of expresso... I sit with my drink & my iPad 2 & my laptop... Sometimes I don't like being interrupted while I'm working & I don't like library... I'm a smoker so when the weather is nice, I like to sit on outside chair & a table & get my work done...

Hi. brianjdmba. Welcome to myLot! I never thought that Starbuck's coffee was any better than any other name branded coffee out there. I guess many people think that it is better, because they drink this type of coffee so much. I do love Starbuck's coffee, it is very delicious to drink.

I don't think Starbucks is much better than the others. Although they do have a lot of coffee choices but I seldom go to Starbucks, mainly because of their price. I find them overly priced compared to the others. I usually go to Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf. I have a friend who lives in the US and every time she comes home to the Philippines she always stays away from Starbucks because she says that Starbucks is a very common coffee shop in the US, kind of like Jollibee here in the Philippines where you can see it every where you look. She also finds it kinda cheap. I don't know about her but for me I'm not really such a fan of Starbucks.

I love starbucks, but I can live w/o it too. I think that because starbucks like any other big name has established itself and became more of a coffee fad. But to be fair w/ it, its coffee tastes great, especially when really hot. And their frappucinos are the best imo. They are in perfect blend, not so sweet compared to other coffee shops.

I have grown to love Starbucks simply because I love the specialty pastries and their blended teas. Also, I love the ambience there. The baristas are friendly and remember you by your name and your drink. I don't really drink their coffee so I can't say anything about that, but their Chai and Green tea are simply delicious! I go Light for their Frappuccino for lesses calories, though. And stay away from whipped cream.

Some coffee tastes better then others due to where the beans where grown so maybe starbucks gets theirs from somewhere other company's don't tend to get it from. Also the roasting of the bean plays allot in how the coffee will taste.

Two words - fat and sugar. The reason Starbucks stands out is mostly because their drinks are so decadent. I admit it's a nice treat every now and then but it's definitely not something I could drink all the time. I'd be broke and as big as a house!

I can say that Starbucks is the best coffee shop I that I visited. Their coffee is great freshly brewed and well mixed than other coffee shops. Aside from that their service is great. Quick and the crew are very polite. I really like their White chocolate mocha and their mocha frap coffee. Their pastries and sandwiches are great as well. Unfortunately, I can't drink coffee because it's bad for the baby. :(
