It's so shocking guys, but it was in the news this morning that Angelo Reyes, shot himself in front of the tomb of his deceased mother. A former general that seemed to be a tough guy would do that? MAybe he was so ashamed of what he did as exposed in the TV, so he shot himself as way of asking forgiveness from his deceased mother. Whatever the reasons why, we really don't know but him alone knows it? My condolences to his family.

It really is a disturbing news. Who would have thought that a tough General would end up this way? Maybe, he knows that he is losing his battle with the corruption issues faced by him. There is no way out, so he chose the easiest way out - killing himself. So sad, that all that he knows about the controversy is taken with him in his grave.

You got a point there shattered. He is not the first high ranking official who has ever been put in a controversy. There is Ex-President Erap Estrada who was charged with plunder but eventually got pardon from Ex-President Gloria Arroyo. It seems he really was depressed that his name was dragged into this. To me, it's like bringing dishonor to his family. You know how military men value the integrity of their names. The way I see it, with him in his parents tomb, he was just a really lost and confused boy and wish that his parents were there with him during this difficult time. Maybe, he was asking for their forgiveness for what he was about to do. We really wouldn't know what really was on his mind.

I guess, it's a bit of a cowardly act of him.

What a very sad and tragic news. I haven't been updated lately since we cannot watch T.V. at home due to reconstruction being done but I have heard about the hearings involving him. I think that his conscience has finally gotten over him and all the confusion and guilt have made him give up hope. So sad that he had to do this instead of just face justice and bring justice to those who deserve it as well. My condolence to the family.

I think it's the shame of having known to be corrupt too, drove him to kill himself.

I read someone said in twitter that if all corrupt officials would do the same thing what Gen.Reyes did... then all would be better in the Philippines....

it was indeed a very shocking news. i got the news from my mom who sent me an sms right away... it was sad.. he had so much in him.. he was a great person before he got involved with the anomalies of the AFP. i guess he might have had his share of the part parts, like the corruption cases, and the country's money.. and it took a toll on him, where he must have thought he put his family's name to shame... ending his own life prematurely, without even trying to defend and clean his name most certainly did not do any good... and well i hope he finds peace still in the afterlife...

Yes, it's sad because ending his life prematurely, lost his chance of defending and clearing his name .

Just seen it on the news, it was really a shock since I see him as you mentioned a tough guy and a very strict one, apparently they were saying that he shot himself for what reason? No one is too sure of what he is thinking when he did it, he was on the news this past few days right for the corruption on AFP, but anyways its all just speculations since General Reyes is gone. Condolences to his family.

Now, the truth will be buried with him. It's sad that he ended up that way, though.
