meeting with a friend

I am a person with very few friends. It's because I don't take the pain to maintain contact with them after we part. Recently I saw one of my classmate. She was delighted to see me. Meeting with her made me realise that I should contact my friends because the happiness I felt when she recognised me was beyond words. What do you think?

I am not good in keeping contact with friends which are far away or in different continent from me. Yes, I sometimes met old friends who were really happy meeting me accidentally and that and that would make me embarrassed as often I forgot their naes, too.
