Welcome to MyLot! This may not be brilliant but rather obvious. In the past, there were no motorized vehicles and factories that ruin the ozone layer and pollute the air. These chemicals are now integrated in the air we breathe, hence we are inhaling poison that destroys our cells. There was no fastfood in the past selling junk foods. We all know that these junk foods contains preservatives that are harmful to the body. The water they drink was clean and pure, no contaminations, no waste thrown in the river so the people can drink the natural water free of charge, now what? We are buying water to drink. During the ancient times, every thing is done by manual labor so the people need to exert physical energy to work. Now everything is computerized, making our lifestyle sedentary. During my childhood, I play outdoor, I run, I jump, everything that makes my body move. But now what? My nephew and niece are sitting in front of the computer playing video games, hanging out in facebook or playing PSP. All of these factors contribute to making our life span short.

Indeed that it is scary and the world today is progressing at a very fast speed with our modern technology but we are destroying the planet earth and we humans are the culprit itself of destroying human lives.

I think that there were less reasons for dying in the old days compared to the present - less pollution, less diseases, less development, less people and most of all, less problems. The progress of civilization did not only bring about changes that make life easier for us but also changes that now make our lives shorter. The ingenuity of man did not only pave the way for the world's advancement to the future but also the way to the world's end. But I do rest my hopes in the future humankind is creating at this moment. I mean, we'll never know how far man's intelligence could go right? Maybe one way or another, we'll be able to bring back the life span of the old times by improving the technology and attitude of the present. :)

Because of what we eat, the stress of every day life situation and the pollution. In the old days people eat chemical free products. People eat fresh crops from the soil, Fresh fish from the sea, etc. Now we are bombarded with instant food. Just microwave it and presto! we have a delicious meal. But underneath those delicious meal are the chemicals and preservative and unnatural ingredient. Then today, we have the fast phase of life. Traffic jams everywhere, deadline from work, emails to read, and other stressful incident. And technology comes with pollution, cars and factories emits harmful gases. Plastics and styro-foams are invented with pollute the earth. I am not saying that I am against change but we should also preserve our mother earth so that we can preserve our life longer and the life of future generations.
