Learning is Fun

I have been an experienced teacher for almost a decade now and I have found something unique and challenging. Students learn at their best when the teaching session is done to the fullest. It all depends on the teacher. Teaching being my cup of tea has taught me something this young, and I am pretty sure you guys would strongly agree with me, "Learning will always be fun when teaching is."

I completely agree with you on this one! I always had a great time teaching and my kids said I wasn't the "normal" teacher because I was so much fun! I loved doing groups and activities and asking questions to really get the students to think!

Yes, I believe that students learn more when the teacher is having fun teachin. In fact, studies have proven that for English Language learners, a warm classroom atmosphere is a must. If children (and adults) are going to take a risk and do something uncomfortable, like speak a language they don't know very well, they must feel that they are in an accepting environment where they will be supported for trying, not punished for failing.

Oh I could not agree with you more. My sister is a kindergarten teacher and has been for 20 something years, and we are both firm believers that the teacher is what is going to help a child learn OR not learn. The teacher makes all the difference in the world. My sister makes her teaching fun, but the other kindergarten teacher is more disciplined and not so much fun, and oh boy how you can tell a difference in the students. Thanks for sharing, and I see that you are new to mylot, so good luck with your mylot adventures.

I like teaching too. I teach English to a small class students of different ages and I am a Sunday School teacher. I very much agree with you. One must have the passion to be able to teach well.

You are right. When work becomes play it generates more enthusiasm. It dissolves the monotony and learners get attracted to the procedures.
