I am a member of a church and been attending for over a year now. Many of the members and I have grown closer together than I feel with my own family. With my Christian family we enjoy talking about Jesus in our lives and share our problems with each other. The biological family is only concerned about themselves and material things. When Jesus is mentioned they roll their eyes and walk away Has this ever happened to you?

Its funny but in my case, its the other way around. I mean, I'm not a chruch-goer but my parents are, and they are truly devoted. You're lucky you found that kind of church family, I think you have a mission to your family and make them realize about their mistakes.

I too was not a church goer for many years. In my teens my dad was a member of a cult that tried to brainwash me. When I attempted to go to other churches many members looked at me as if to say "What is he doing in our private club" It turned me off church for a long time When you believe in Jesus and pray every day He will guide you to a church where you will feel comfortable with As for the family, they are very materialistic and we have nothing in common. They fight amongst themselves a lot and are very unhappy. This is the happiest I have ever been and that is why I have not been home in over two years and have no intention of returning God bless you

Yes, in many different forms.. I have been literally adopted by my adopted parents, my sister was adopted by her family.. So I was adopted by hers as well, my chatroom friends become like family, many, forums, and groups, then my facebook friends, .. it gets pretty neat after awhile you have lots of families, as well as friendship families over time... .. My adopted family does not want to listen to 90% of what I have to say about anything.. But that is okay.. It gives me more to talk about on pay forums, and pay chats.. :D ... but I do feel lonely alot cause of it

That sounds good with all your on line friends, but sad your adopted family does not want to listen to you. That is the way my family is. They are very materialistic and not interested in GOd. maybe that is why they fight amongst themselves so much. That is the reason I have not been home for two years and have no desire to go back. My life is here now and I am the happiest I can ever remember being God bless
