Best friend trauma

It might soon be the end of a 7 year-old friendship between my best friend 'alex' and I. We have gone through so many ups and downs together, done every silly and ridiculous things, skipped school to explore abandoned properties.. anything adventurous and risky, you name it, we probably done it all. Then one fine day, a girl came along and entered his life, things start to change. We spend way less time hanging out with one another. all that was on his mind is her, nothing else. I tried to talk to him about it, of course he wouldn't listen, he had fallen too deeply in love. Nothing that I do seem to be significant enough to catch his attention, to wake him up. Then things get worse as the days go by, we started to quarrel a lot and then I get the cold turkey treatment. Is that how it is? A seven year-old friendship fading away in such a short period of time.. over a girl? Is there any way to salvage this friendship or should I just let it go?

I feel bad to hear that your friendship is over due to a girl. To be frank, i will say that your friendship was not perfect as a girl entered his friend's life and things were changed very soon. It means that it was not true friendship from you friend. So, you should not bother these things and go ahead in life. The good thing is that you are not guilty and you did not cheat him on.

hi monty, I am currently still working on the friendship between him and I. Yes I did not do anything that would hurt him, you were right about the girl entering his life and things changed, but I believe all friendships are never perfect, there is always bound to have conflict, just that this one that I am going through is really upsetting and that I really hope to resolve it over time. Till then, all that I can really do is to continue talking to him and wait for his pleasant response.
