Hello lokahiou and welcome to myLot! Giving him foods with pepper inside doesn't help. On the contrary, you risk to damage his stomach and liver if you give him so much spices. I'm afraid I don't have good news for you. You can teach your dog not to eat from the ground when you're with him, but I don't think you'll succeed in training him not to eat what he founds when he's alone in the garden. But you can try. In theory, here's what you should do: Teach him the "leave it" command: Keep some treat in your hand and show it to your dog. When he becomes interested in it, close your hand and tell him "leave it!" Repeat the command until he calms down and he stops trying to reach for the food. Then you praise him and reward him with the treat, giving the command "take it!". Repeat this for a few times every day, until he knows what you expect from him. Then start placing pieces of meat on the ground and walk with him among them. Tell him "leave it!" whenever he tries to take one and reward him with a treat from your hand as soon as he leave the food from the ground and look at you. Don't reward him with the food from the ground, but with food that you have in your pocket. Repeat this and increase the distance between you and your dog when you do this exercise, until he doesn't show any interest in the food from the ground. This is in theory. In practice it will be difficult to succeed. Even if he won't eat anything from the ground when you are with him, nobody can guarantee that he will do the same with the food he founds when he's alone in the garden. I wish you good luck and don't forget to keep us updated with the training.
