OK, guess what day that might be? I forgot to switch off my notifications yesterday and my wall was flooded with umpteen well wishesSome might have guessed by now - YES, it was on my birthday. Please I'm not starting a thread here so people can NON-STOP post well wishes but I'm just wondering, when is it the your wall get's the most posts? Is it during your birthday? Or is it just about every time since you always update yourself on Facebook? I forgot that I could turn off my birt date, not that it's something bad when people wish you but with the notifications turned on, even the email is flooded? Hahaha!~

Haha, we don't ONLY flood people's walls on their birthdays. We flood them when we feel like it. It's some sort of ritual among my friends... Just pray that you won't get reported for spamming others' walls. :D

Hahaha!~Yeah I know what you mean but the ones on birthdays are just too many, even those you don't really know would be wishing you & you might be trying to figure out....hmm....who's that? Maybe time to delete another "friend"? Hahaha!~

I don't delete friends, even though the deleted friend prob. won't know. If we are to only add real friends, I guess my friends list won't be so long...

Oh gosh yes my wall gets so overflooded I am surprised friends are able to see my profile picture through out the flood. I do have my notifications on but I really do not visit that often and when I do I skim through it and then leave.

Well, an animated profile pic like what you have here is quite hard to miss right? Haha!~Well, I mostly use Facebook as a business platform since there are so many friends there, that's why I log in every day but I'm just not the type loading up photos, normally my wife's the one that does that, haha!~ I mostly get tagged, hahaha~!

I guess I have notifications in facebook turned off because I never get any. When I logged in the other day, I did see a lot of messages about my birthday, but I didn't even look at the wall. I hope things are going well for you and that you have many more.

I'm a noob at Facebook even though I am in it for years. Lol. Can notifications be turned off? The flooding of your wall just goes to show that you are popular! Congratulations!! Hehe =) For me, my Facebook is relatively quiet, even on my birthday. Guess I'm at the age whereby most of my friends are also out working in order to pay off their education loan and none of them are even free to be updating and lurking on their facebook accounts. But, if we are talking about the past when I was still schooling (in my time, it was friendster that was way popular), my wall was flooded with testimonials from my friends and colleagues giving me compliments and telling the whole world what sort of person am I from their point of view. And yes, it was also flooded with well wishers during my birthdays and special occasions like christmas and new year. In Facebook, I rarely do update my status. Find it stupid to be announcing to the whole world what I am doing and how I am feeling at that particular point of time. Most of the time, I just used it as a backup for my pictures. There was only a slight period of time whereby I was very obsessed with Facebook and boy, did it really get me into lots of trouble and lots of relationships between family and friends broken. That was the period of time when I had my postnatal blues. Nevertheless, I would have to say that Facebook is a place whereby it is just not worth the time and trouble. Happy mylotting my friend!

Sounds like it left a taste for you but you can't blame anyone else as one should NEVER post certain stuff not only on Facebook, even here in myLot or make sensitive things public in any form. Ya, I know Friendster which I've haven't gone on for a loooooooong while now. I can't even remember when was the last time I logged in, speaking of such, I think I'd better just go check, haha~Well, I don't update my status SO often like SO many people, haha!~ I think I just post something once in a blue moon. I don't think it has anything to do with "popular", just got loads of friends that remember me on THAT day of the year only hahaha!~

Well, is myLot really safer as what is posted cannot be deleted compared to faceboookWell, all I'm saying on the well wishing part is it's sometimes very superficial - you only get remembered once in a year, they never remeber you on any other day, haha!~!~We never had any help either as the 1st 2 weeks I had to feed baby every 2 hours since it was an emergency C-section & I had to also tend to my wife's wound - how about that

I guess it's still best having real friends who really keep contact throughout the year, not just via convenience right? Haha!~

I only have 53 friends on facebook but my wall is already flooded with news and status updates from other users. I think I need to filter them some more. I don't like seeing rants there because it ruins my mood for the day.

Yeah, rants are the worse, just plain sillyWell, I guess those other users are your friends' friends. If not mistaken, you should be able to shut that off somewhere in settings

My birthday was a couple of weeks ago on the 30th, and I got so many wonderful notifications from my many friends, that here it is Valentine's Day, and I'm still responding to all the wonderful messages. LOL I got a major wall flood on my birthday, and it was great. :) So I know the feeling.

Belated Happy Birthday! My wall gets flooded also on my birthday and on special occasions like valentines day and christmas which i guess is common to most facebook users. The good things here is that your friends remember you on your natal day. During ordinary days, i dont get much posts. :)
