I really hate that word it either makes or marred you. I have a suggestion in my own opinion that can reduce the rate of divorce, the law makers should vote against paying settlements in divorce except when kids are involved. This will ensure that people that married in order to get pay off after divorce will have a re-think. What's your opinion? Have any idea how divorce rate can be reduce.

Indeed divorce is not good...It is bad for the family institution, as well as the community as a whole...Divorce cases has been proven to be one of the factors of social problems among the youth nowadays ...The best way for me to reduce divorce is actually by increasing the public knowledge about the consequences of divorce...No other aspects are more influential in solving this problem other than the divorcing partners themselves...They must be made aware of the consequences, and that will make them rethink before they proceed with their decision...

Good one educating couples on the consequences of divorce. what do you have to say about someone who knows all these and got married becase the partner has enough money to spare incase of divorce.

I believe in that case both parties should be hold guilty...Both partners are guilty for not knowing each other better before proceeding with their marriage, and suddenly when marital disasters happen they get divorced ...That person is absolutely selfish and I believe is a person who likes to take advantages of others' naive nature...What a shame to him/her!

We don't have divorce here in our country only legal separation and nullity of marriage. I don't know why do couples get married and divorce their union once they found out that they are not compatible or they have irreconcilable differences. The children from this marriage is the most affected. One of the reasons why seldom that there is legal separation and nullity of marriage here in our country is that it is very expensive process and it will take a long time before it can be approved by the court and besides since we are in a Catholic country, the Church doesn't approved of it.

I agree that divorce is the worst thing that can happen in lives of two people married to each other. There is not one reason, but many that make two people opt for divorce. Yes, it is avoidable. 1) People who tie the knot should each other well, they must know each other's nature, other person's tastes, their likes and dislikes. 2) Infidelity is the biggest reason for breaking up a family. One must shun it all cost. If one cannot remain faithful to other he or she must refrain from marrying. No one should think that they can get away after cheating their partner in marriage. 3) Parents, relatives and outsiders must not interfere in couple's married life. The couples should not allow this to happen at all cost. 4) Do not marry the person with whom you can live with, rather marry the person one cannot live without. Try staying away from each other until you know this for sure. 5) Do not think what the other person can give you; think rather what you can give to other person. 6) Do not have high hopes from other because those who live in hopes die in despair. Do not marry for the sake of dowry because all marriages for the sake of dowry end up in divorce.

I agree that too many people give up on their marriages too quickly, but there are some instances...repeated cheating comes to mind, where staying in the marriage is worse, both for the adults and children. I think that we need not look at divorce, but at marriage and the reasons why people are getting married. I would be happy to mandate counseling sessions before a marriage license is given.
