Is buying of SEZs by MNCs will improve INDIAs economy?

We know lots of Indian as well as Foreign companies are buying SEZs in India. But earlier stories of SEZs says that only few comanies were able to recover their desired output or profits!! So is it good strategy for companies to go for SEZ units or is it good for Indian Eonomy??
