L Illusioniste is one animated movie that is truly dark. Chronicling a down and out French magician, the movie takes us on his exploits through Paris, smaller French towns, London and a Scottish Loch, and finally Edinburgh where the action takes place. Here we see how the magic spun attracts little attention. However, a young girl Alice believed in his magic as he could buy her many things. When the 'magic' has gone out, the poor magician faces the truth that he is no longer relevant and he sets free his rabbit on a moor. Life is such. Good animation.
