the size of your ears

As i was riding in train on my way to office this morning, my attention was caught by an old woman in front of me. What struck me most was the size of her ears. It is big and looks like an extended letter-C. I remember when i was young, my grandfather told me that the life span of a person can be shown in the size of his/her ears. The bigger your ears, the longer your life. And when the lower portion is extended, it says you will become rich because you will catch all the luck. As i look at the old lady, i'm thinking if there's a truth in that old saying relating to the size of your ears.
