A Very Long World Cup...!!!!!!!!

India

Dear All, The 2011 cricket world cup has all the makings of a very long one. There are 14 countries participating, and there are 49 matches, spanning from the 19th of February to the 2nd of April. The 2007 world cup featured 54 matches with 16 teams. So I believe that it is still going a very long world cup, keeping in mind that the average time span of a match is about 8 hours. This could have been remedied, had they scheduled multiple matches on all days. There are three channels airing this, so viewing would not have been a problem. The point is, the longer a tournament gets, the less enjoyable it becomes for the people watching it. Unfortunately, only very few matches have been scheduled on the same day. 24 matches to be exact. They could have used more venues to solve this problem. Any ways, I just hope that we have exciting matches, so that no one notices how long this World Cup will be. Share your views... Balu
