Thoughts on Survivor Redemption Island!

Hey guys! The Survivor series has been around for 10 years or more, and now with season 22 they have introduced an exciting new twist, which is the titular Redemption Island. What do you guys think about this new concept? Is it really as interesting as Jeff Probst is hyping it to become? I really think this is a great idea, although I am not too happy with having Russell and Rob back in the game. I feel like there should be equal chance given to new players to play instead of having the same people over and over again.
Also, who are your early favorites? Would love to hear them and discuss with you!

Natalie just because she is an eye candy and she is the first teenage girl in the history of the US version of survivor. This season is supposed to be an all stars of people who didnt reached the merged but Mark brunette like the Rob vs. Russell Idea (grrrr, vote them off quick)
I dont care about who plays the game well, I care more for entertainment value and personality, so I may root for Francesca because she is kinda funny. I read spoilers about this season and I actually liked the results.

Yeah. Natalie is really cute. I read from Jeff's impressions that he really liked how Natalie played this game despite being a teenager, so I have high expectations from her game. I have to say though that the premiere was one of the best, especially since I was not particularly excited about this season. And that was one of the best first tribal councils in a while! Do you agree?

They just hit the Jackpot in casting Phillip and Francesca, sadly Francesca is sent home, Phillip and Francesca must stay longer or because we have a lot of boring people in this season, I like the editing because Boston Rob and Russel didnt swallow the facetime, In fact the most facetime is given to Phillip and Francesca.

I agree. Francesca, she's one of my faves because she seems really smart, natural, and very entertaining. I am glad that there is Redemption Island, or else she would have been gone for good. I hope she survives the duel and stay alive. The show would benefit having a great character like her.

I really like the concept. And I would probably have to agree with you with what you say about Rob and Russell being back. Though, I do find watching Russell very entertaining.
My early favourites were probably Elizabeth from season 2 (mostly because I used to think she was so good looking), Ethan from the one in Africa, and of course I really enjoyed Rupert. I cant really remember a lot of people from Survivor, but I know I really liked those people!

Wow.Those characters going back to play Survivor would be a dream. I like Elizabeth from season 2 too. But i heard she decline the offer to join the original All-Stars.
Going back to Redemption Island though, I hope these would be the last time we'd lay our eyes on Survivor with these two (Rob and Russell).

I think it has possibilities. Something different. At least there will be time they have to spend on that part of the show instead of filming the constant bickering and arguing! I dn't like that Rob and Russel are back. They both have been on so many times and neither have won...but been among the first to be voted off every time they come back. I am tired of them! Why should they keep getting a "chance" at the million over and over again...or does Burnett know they will never win, and just tosses them in there for "effect"? But all the newbies have all said that they intend to vote them both off soon as possible.

Me too, I was skeptical about the idea of bringing back Rob and Russell. But I think there is some fair amount of interesting characters this season such that these two returning castaways won't take all of the airtime. We have yet to see, it should be exciting how the redemption island will play out. :)
