Why so many people are crazy about photography

Is there any specific reason why so many people are interested in taking pictures, what ever it could be. To me, I found many people irrespective of their age and creed, are interested in taking photos of their family, of premises and the things they like to take. For that they allot time when ever they are free. How many of you guys are having this photography as their hobby among your premises or surroundings? Any experience like me?

I liek to capture the happy moments with my friends and family but I am not too crazy about it like I will take pictures of my friends' toe...

Photography is not really my thing, but my younger brother is...He takes wedding pictures and get paid for that, and I believe that is one of the reasons why he takes photography as his profession...Nevertheless, there are many other reasons why photography is interesting to learn and master...I believe most of the hobbies are based on enthusiasm and passion towards something, and thus the main reason why many people are interested in taking pictures...
