Mardi Gras In New Orleans

Mardi Gras season is in full swing in my town of New Orleans right now. Fat Tuesday is March 8th. I live in New Orleans and experience Mardi Gras every year.Would you believe that many locals of New Orleans actually leave town for Mardi Gras because they are tired of it. That could never be me because Mardi Gras is too much fun. Anybody have any crazy Mardi Gras experiences or wish that they could go?

Yes, I believe the locals probably get out of town. I've been to New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Yes, it was fun, but once is enough for me. I just do not feel comfortable in crushing crowds. And the beads get heavy around your neck. I was actually dodging any thrown in my direction. It definitely is one helluva party though! Anything goes and does.

If you ever get the chance to go again you could ride in one of the parades or rent a balcony on Bourbon Street. If you did that the beads woudn't be thrown at you but instead you would throw the beads at people lol

You reminded me of something else, baderbig. I remember walking under those balconies and something dripping down on me a couple of times and trying to push through to get out from under them, 'cause God knows what was dripping! EWWWWWWWWW!

I went to Mardi Gras years ago and I enjoyed it especially the food.
