Have you ever life life without any regret? Live life like like there are no tomorrow? I can honestly say up to the point where I can decide for myself and make my own choices, No, No regrets. However, If I could redo my childhood, I would. Up to the age of 6, my childhood was not pleasant at all. My mother was nothing but caring and did the best that she could for my sister and I, however she could not shield us from the hate and prejudice other had towards us. What kind of prejudice you ask? We did not have a father..A male dominate culture. If you had a male authority in your household then, everyone around you have some kind of respect or so they call it. If you don't, well, then you're of no value. That's what we had to endure. I would not mind going through life without ever having to experience that kind of prejudice. However, that was not my life. The bright side to this? I would be happy to have never experienced that kind of prejudice, I'm glad I did. Without those horrible experience, I could not be the person I am today. So I guess in the end, No I would not redo my childhood either. So I will continue to live my life to the fullest. There's not better way to get back at those people then live a full life.

I think as humans, it would be normal to feel regrets when you think that you have missed out on important things that could have happened in your life. But instead of living in dread because of these things, make these regrets as your source of inspiration to be better, to do better things and achieve more in life.

that's true, our past contributes to what we are now and what we will be in the future. :)

i agree on you staria. i think most of us have regrets in life. i myself have so many wrong decisions i made in my past. wrong person i loved. these are just the few instances in my life that i could say there were regrets. but life goes on. i used all my bad experiences to motivate me with my present and my future. regrets in the past made me a better person now i should say.. and i am thankful because i can never be the person right now without my sweet and bitter past.. :)

I think I have a lot of regrets in life. I wish I could have done things like get a decent job and be able to do well in school when I went to college the first time so I could have been a nurse. I tried to do many things but nothing I did ever seemed to be right. Now I am over 50 and not able to work because of cancer and I don't know what I am going to do. Not to say that I didn't have a good life. I just never had success with work. I think the greatest success I had with work was when I went to China to teach English and I will never regret that, only that I waited so long to do it. My brother tried to talk me into doing it for eight years before I finally went and I loved it. Now I don't know if I will ever be able to go back to it because of my health. I will live what is left of my life to the fullest because I don't know how long I might have. Have a great day!

Sorry to hear about your health situation, but don't let that stop you from doing what you love to do. Time, is only what you make of it. No one really know how much time they have to live, while some live it to the fullest, so many take life for granted. You did something positive. Be proud. Think of it as an opportunity and do all that you love to do:) I can't speak for others, but you've done something I long wanted to do, which is to visit China. Thanks for sharing.

Perhaps you will be able to go there some day. I never thought it was possible before I just up and did it in 2006. Do you have a bachelor's degree? If so, you could get a job there easily. I am still anticipating the day that I can either go back to China or go somewhere else. I consider this cancer recurrence to be a setback, but it is only temporary. I will survive...again!

I also choose to live life without regrets. If nothing bad ever happened, we would never learn and grow from these experiences. I have endured many terrible things that friends of mine have not had to deal with, and I feel that I am much more mature and experienced in life than those around me who have never had anything bad happen to them. There are always positive things you can take out of any experience, no matter how horrible it may have originally been. Regrets get you nowhere in life, so I don't want to dwell on them.

I think all of us have regret in this life, but it depends on one's personality to overcome that regret. I do have some regrets, too. But I moved on and learned not to repeat what I did wrong in the past. If given another chance to change something, I would do just the same as what I did, so... I would say that life without regret is impossible, but we need not to be down with some regrets.

Congratulations friend for having realized that what happened in the past made you a better person! You wouldn't be what you are right now if it weren't for those prejudices. So consider yourself lucky. You are a great person and I hope you would find more success in life. Show to the world who you really are and make life better. I didn't have any regrets in life and all the decisions that i have made i am proud of them! I have too much pride and confidence in myself but i am not boastful though! I prefer to be humble and stay simple in life. That keeps me going each day!

I think you are right! Life is unpredictable.I have to make many decisions and choices everyday. Each one could change the way of living. I have something to regret for.For instance,I had a very nice Math teacher in my high school, which had taught me for three years. She was responsible and patience.I used to be a naughty boy and she always mad at me so I thought it was annoying. Thanks to her help that I can enter a good college. Meanwhile I moved to another city and I won't get a chance to show my appreciation to her. When I was upset about this, I convinced myself that all she want to see is my succeed.I just attempt to be positive and never waste time to regret.

Well, I have a few regrets in my life. There are times when I think and look back at certain decisions that I've made and I wish I could have done the other way around. Sometimes, I felt that I've wasted certain opportunities that were within my possible reach in the past. However, I tell myself that there is no point in looking back and being so nostalgic. As they say, the past is no longer here and the future is not yet here, so we might as well focus on the present. There are things in my life that I may have regretted but I just pick up the lessons from them and move forward.
