Mum Couldn't Resist Our Pets At Home Store!

One of the many shops Mum visited when she stayed with us over weekend was Pets at Home as it's not far from where we live. Mum was like a kid in a sweet shop lol. She wanted to buy a melanine bowl (like mine) that can hold water in one bit and munchies in the other. She said, "Don't they do a double one?" "Er..no Mum, you wouldn't be able to fit it in the sink!" "Good point!" So she picked up 2 double bowls. She then spotted the cat toys. Picked up 3 colourful mice for her cats to entertain themselves with. Once back at Mum's the two cats love the two new bowls. I threw one of the mice at Ellie and - in about 3 seconds, she had its nose off. Good job it wasn't a real mouse! Have you bought any new things for your cat(s) lately?

yea,the "kittens" turned 11 today,so they got several bags of treats and a new big rattan bed they share. i was gonna buy some mousies, but i refuse to get the dyed ones. all that color in their mouths can't be good for them.

The mice Mum's cats have don't last long enough to affect them I don't think..but I do know what you mean. Yesterday, to cheer my ill cat up we bought her 2 pure catnip mice that look like the real thing. I've had to do a "double take" a few times. Fortunately, I'm not frightened of live mice which is a good job really, isn't it?

No, because I still don't have a cat/kitten, just the two Shelties. And they're not that crazy about toys. I have dozens stacked up and I'm about to take them to the shelter. Maybe another dog/cat/puppy/kitty will like them?

Yeah, the toy would sell for $.50 and the shipping...$9.95. I don't think it would work :D

I love pets at Home, we have one near us and I love browsing in there. My cats, bless em, will only play with rolled up bits of paper. I have bought little mice, balls with cats paws inprinted on them, mice that if you pull their tails, run along the ground, furry things on sticks, but no , they prefer their little balls of rolled up paper!! but I have bought them a new bed. they have 2 beds which is surprising as i only have 2 cats now, but they love playing musical beds and i love to see their contented expressions as they snuggle down into a comfortable bed.

Yes, John bought Flojo a furry bed that's used for convalescing as it has built in..er, stuff. She tends to sleep on it during the summer for some reason. We've tried different toys with her as well but her favourite toy is hubby. Haha! Mum chucked another one of the mice at Ellie the other day and she ripped its head off in just a few seconds. Oh dear!

That's very true. My FloJo (cat) has given us both unconditional love since we brought her home and I wouldn't swap her for the world.

I do not have dogs and or cats as our apartment is too small. I would want my pet to run free and not caged all day. But wanted to say that if I did have one I would be just oh so like her, I would shop just as often as I would if it were my child. lol.

The thing is, the Pets at Home in Blackpool (where Mum lives) is at the other side of Town and she'd have to catch a bus up there. The bus services are all over the place as well due to the cutbacks recently so, knowing Mum, she'd end up somewhere completely different. My cat isn't in the house 24 hours a day. She is let out periodically but under supervision. For starters, she doesn't like other cats and she gets all jumpy when she sees one through the window, never mind outside lol. However, Mum's cats have a huge garden to run around in. I don't know what my Flojo would make of it but if we ever move to somewhere with a large garden like that I'd ensure I had Flojo in a harness and lead to start with, so she gets used to the great outdoors. One day...one day..

I have fed an ugly dog for eight years. Here few people feed cat.People think the dog looks after house ,it is faithful;the cat often leaves the owner when they are poverty-striken.On the other hand, there are few mouse now.

I have not bought anything new. I have just been cleaning and finding things that they had lost. To the kitties I am the best toy that there is. We bought them cute little kitty dishes a while back, though.

It's entertaining watching Mum's cats play, especially when they "play-fight" as it starts off with innocent cleaning, then one grabs the other round the neck lol. Claws never come out though...fortunately!
