Can She Call Herself A Public Figure?

Other day I was watching MTV and in that I was watching the auditions for 'Roadies', a girl about 20years entered for the audition and it seems so lost the selection by few points. Since she was my home town with a known Sirname, I was keen to search about her and through the Face book I tried to open her Page!
I was surprised that her name was seen under Public Figure! I am really shocked can some one become public figure just going for the audition of a game show?
Some people on her wall wrote that she has become a celebrity etc. Do you think that this is right thing happening! I know many popular artists who have achieved big laurels in their lives and they never call themselves as public figure! Who soever has opened this page for her, is is a proper thing? Are not the people misguiding the young girl and making her a scape goat,to make fun of her after wards?
I am really feeling bad about the girl,who hardly can think anything at this tender age...I am seeing many models out of frustration doing many wrong things in their respective lives...I hope you are getting my point!

Hi AKRao,
We are still Indians... where glitz and media does make us public figures. Many many aspire to be on the television or media and those who get there become "Celebrities" no matter whether they are successful or not.
The girl, I know would be hyped for quite sometime, and if she can become a manipulator... maybe who knows she is tomorrows star. If not, then she would go down as an unknown person in the history, but I think she will make it, the people of her age are more open to becoming manipulators for the success and know what has to be done at such stages

Hi Dear Sids! I agree with you that in India we have got Television or media which can make one 'Celebrity' within no time! But my point is that she has not received any Gallantry Award or Some Film Fare Award or topped an ISA list, All she did was just appeared for an audition and all this hype is about it!
Like you say such people are generally manipulators and they know what to do and when to do to have success in their life! There is no problem if she climbs the ladder of success! But my only worry is most of the times such young people get themselves prey to the cunning jackals of the Society! I very well know few cases where enthusiastic young girls with full potential in their life are ruined today!

I am not aware how old you are but yes, I believe we are at least in the same age group if not younger. It is true that many young people get themselves prey to the cunning jackals of the Society but that is because of their faults. They have to risk it because they have to try to be successful and get famous - this way or that way

Hi Dear Sids! I think you are much younger to me as i have already entered the wrong side of life! recently I have crossed 50! LOL !
Now coming to the point, as I have experienced many a things in my life very closely, I can definitely say one thing the World of glamour is some thing very different from other professions! Here since there is cut throat competition, the aspiring candidates , either because of frustration or because of innocence, they get themselves trapped in the tricky tantrums of many cunning people of the industry and there after they are not only get exploited themselves but they are used as a link to hook another one!

Hi Dear Zoey! Well I agree with you to some extent,but the fact is that he had some talent within him and he could prove it later on by releasing several Albums of hi and could make impact on the media and public! For him the Live show of America Got Talent, was just an exposure to his talent! Basically he had a talent and he took the opportunity to present it in front of the masses!
But here in Roadies we don't require any talents, all you require is a courage and physical toughness along with appropriate attitude! Though both the cases have one similarity the both are just failures in the auditions, but I feel William Hung can't at all be compared with this girl with no talents at all!
