We usually eat at fastfood chains whenever we go to malls, since my mother is really very thrifty
, though I now understand the word "budget", still I'm a bit new tho the idea and I wanted my mother to eat something special last night...simply because she's the most special mother in the world, she's mine
...
It felt really nice to be able to buy her and my siblings something, not for any reason but just because...it's funny that my mother thinks it's too excessive, new bag and fine dining, is that excessive? I know she thinks I don't see but I can see the fact that she doesn't like it when I'm the one spending for her...it's endearing, she's done so many things for me but doesn't expect anything from me except maybe my love and respect...
I may be a long way to real financial stability but I'm secure that no matter what I have the greatest stability ever, a close and loving family, now there may be times that I might look at the heavens and ask God how come I'm with these weird and crazy people but I will always thank Him for giving me them...

Mothers act that way most of the time. When I'm out w/ my parents, they always insist that they pay for our expenses, not because they do not want to use my money but because may be they want/need to feel that you still need them even though we are already earning our own money

I guess so, and it's nice especially in our family which most of my aunts and uncles expect their children to pay them back...literally

I think that when a mother is as nice as your moms sounds like she is needs to be reminded every once in a while how much you appreciate her. She needs to get used to you spending for her occasionally. I would be happy to have some odd, unique, sorta quirkee, and even over the edge bohemian type of folks in my family. I do too!

Hi. marapplestiffy. That was very nice of you to treat your mom and your siblings out to dinner. I am sure that this made them very happy. That was a very generous offer that you gave unto them. I know that your mom does not expect so much from you, but I know that she appreciated your thoughtfulness.

Your mother is lucky for having a loving and generous daughter like you. But you are luckier for having a simple mother, who is not materialistic.
other mothers would ask for things that their children can't afford. So much so , that the children would do things illegal just to be able to give them the material things the mother is asking for.
However, rarely would there be mothers like that. Generally, mothers would be contented if her children would show her so much love and care for her. It's more important than those material things.
Lucky you for loving your family that way. Keep it up!

I really think that my mother is the best blessing I have in this world...and I know what you mean about materialistic mother's, I used to think that all mothers are like mine so when I first met a mother who is more concern about material things I was simply shocked!!!

mothers are always mother we cant even do whatever she had done for us.forget about the bill paying of dinner if we give our life for her that is also not gonna equal the things what she did for us.
