This is a followup to a discussion I posted last week. I had the medical tests today and I'm glad it is over with. I don't really know what the results will be, but that's ok. I had a few problems though. It started out ok. I went to the infusion unit and they accessed my port. I love having a port! The nurse was able to draw the labs needed from the port except for one that she had to get a vein for. Her first attempt did not work well so she had to try again. The second time worked fine. I then went up for a cat scan. I hadn't been informed that I needed to get contrast so they told me to come back later and they would get me in. I did get the other tests done while waiting. I got the cat scan done and finally got out of there. Now I wait to see if I will get the standard treatment or the extra drug. Not that I look forward to chemo, but if it doesn't get started, it will never get finished. Have a great day!

Regardless of which side of the study they put me on, I should start treatments by next week. I hope that they let me know in the next day or two. Thanks for the comment!

That's cool that they are going to start them pretty soon. Cancer isn't something to take their time on. It is good to know quite a bit in advance . I'm an anxious person my self on wanting to know whats going on. Thank you for responding back to me and I will keep you in my prayers.

Glad to hear you had the tests and now the testing part is over. I do pray that the results are favorable and or that trial medications will be approved. Best of luck to you, and thanks for the follow up.

I know that one way or the other, I will be starting on chemo next week. I just hope they don't find anything wrong that might prevent the start of treatments. Thanks for the comment!

Unless people have had all this done themselves or have accompanied family or friends they have no idea what this can be like and how long the day can be. I wish you had a friend or someone who can tag along and talk and make the day pass faster.

I know what you mean. I really should have taken my laptop with me, but I thought I was going to be done by 1 and wouldn't have time to sit around at all. The only person I know in this area is my brother and he had other things he needed to do so he couldn't stick around. I'm used to being alone anyway. Thanks for the comment!
