if there is a storm coming, or a cyclone or anything like that, that weather people can predict do you evacuate when they say you have to? or do you stay and just make sure you are safe? its hard to decide specially when you know that the evacuation center will be crowded. a friend who lives at australia was so nervous about the 5 cyclone but did not evacuate. she has two kids 4 and 1 years old but still they stayed. lucky they were safe. but if that happened to me and my family i will evacuate. it is better to be in a safe place than trying to be strong in the face of a natural disaster. how about you?

I would have certainly gathered the children as soon as possible and evacuated to a safe haven. As my belonging are not so important as the safety of the kids. I am glad she and the children ended up safe, but I would have evacuated right away.

speaking of belongings, in year 1991 a volcano here in our country erupted. all the people near it that the weather people know that they will be badly hit by the volcanoes lava was warned to evacuate. some of them listened and some of them not. some of those who did not evacuate was saying that they can not bring their farm animals and appliances to the evacuation center. they put their families on the line just because they can not bring some of the things they treasured. then when they were badly hit they are blaming the government for it. its very sad to see something like this. i agree with you that always make sure the family is in a safe haven for belongings are not that important... the kids are. thanks a lot for the response.

Whatever the authorities say regarding these I'll follow. They know what's best for the people and they're well-supported by experts on weather conditions.

I agree. It's better to be safe than sorry. We only have 1 life and we must value it. We can't even fight on a natural disasters like that because no one can control it.

If they are telling you to evacuate I would. No reason to put your life at risk. just my opinion. My thoughts are with you.
