Have you ever dropped your laptop and what were the effects?

I guess most of us have dropped our laptops at some point, I have a pretty bad track record with it in fact, perhaps because my flat is cluttered and I'm pretty disorganised. My first laptop a couple of years ago was an HP which fell off a cupboard which was about a metre from the floor, nothing was wrong with it initially but a few months later the motherboard packed up. I had exactly the same situation as the first (motherboard packing up) with my next laptop which fell out of a bag, now I've had a MacBookPro for just over a year and to my fury, I somehow knocked it off the arm of a sofa yesterday and it fell on the floor, made an almighty bang but fortunately there seems to be no damage. Does anyone else have experience with dropping a MacBookPro or another type of laptop?

I have dropped my laptop one too many times and it never seems to break on me. But I'm afraid that one of these days that I'm going to drop my laptop so hard that it'll break on me. That's the day where I'll be totally upset.
