i think it is great idea to write your kids name on his belongings to keep from getting them lost. i dont have any small kids of my own but i do have a small grandchild and when he gets in school i will be sure to tell his mom to write his name on his stuff.. everything is so expensive for kids now adays anyhow with out getting it lost at school...great tip...

Hi, that is what I have been doing to my son who is in grade school. I write his name in all the things that he brings to school because I know that children have the tendency to lose things when they are tired from playing or studying in school. I should know because I was also a thing loser and it was recovered or returned to me because my parents also wrote my name on my things.

I'm a teacher and I can say first hand, write your child's name on EVERYTHING! There are always multiple kids in a class that have the same thing, same size, etc. And kids (esp young ones) don't remember what is theres. I think it's nice the school donates things like that to the salvation army. I would hope they wait until the end of the school year to do so though!

Everything up to the last pencil should be labeled as supplies and clothing is expensive to replace, especially while unplanned. I suppose someone will benefit from the unclaimed items, hopefully the owners prior to the end of the school year will claim their belongings.

Good idea. Kids leave things everywhere and so many kids have similar clothing items it can be difficult to tell what belongs to who. At least the extra items will be donated to those that need them.
