Acne at the jaw line, could it be my shampoo?

I have noticed that a few times a year I will get stubborn acne right at my jaw line that my regular regime will not take away. I wonder if this acne could be actually exzema, apparently exzema can clog pores and make it look like acne. I have recently switched shampoo's to a fragrance-free shampoo to see if it helps. Does anyone else out there have this problem and what do you use to treat it?

Pimples sprouting out from my forehead is my problem nowadays. I'm also thinking that it's because of the shampoo, my hair, oil, and constant exposure to heat and dusts that made them come out from time to time. I guess, washing your face will help these be minimized. Look for milder soap, cream, or cleanser. As much as possible, don't use facial scrubs-they way too harsh and opens your spores which welcomes dirt to enter by then. When your skin is too sensitive with harsh chemicals, it tends to over-react. Try to consult a dermatologist as well that you might get some tips and you will be prescribed of what really suits your skin.

Thats very interesting that you commented on the hormone imbalance. I just recently went off birth control that I had been on for the last 7 years, I guess that could possibly be why my face is acting up:) I absolutley agree with not using harsh soaps and scrubbing. I have usually used Dove sensitive soap and have recently switched to using Moisturelle for my face as well. My skin seems to be doing a bit better. Also I have tried pulling my hair off of my face when it gets really bad; that seems to help too. I find it is so much trial and error and can get frustrating.

I have this same problem. The way that i try to prevent it is to make sure I dont touch my face and I keep the area clean. Also, Try to pull your hair back from your jaw line and see if that helps. These have all helped to reduce the acne I got but it will still flare up every once in a while.

hi there. i get pimples too from time to time, but i have pimple scars around my nose, and cheeks but i dont usually get pimples around my jawline area. but few of the factors that can actually contribute as to why we get pimples are, because we have oily skin, we are exposed to dirt and dusts, stress, and also because of our genes. my father used to have so much pimples when he was young. so that can also be one reason. but what i would usually do is wash my face every time i am exposed to dusts and dirt like when i go out. usually i wash 2-3 times a day because if it is too much then it is gonna get too dry and then another problem might arise again. but when it gets too much, i then go to my dermatologist to get my facial skin checked, it is kind of expensive but it is very effective. i think maybe you can also try what i did, use a very mild soap or facial wash like cetaphil, then use a toner to clean the face better before going to bed at night. i hope this response helps you in any way.
