Here in negros occ. there is also habal-habal especially trips going to community in the mountain area. This transportation is widely used i guess because is the only way for some commuters to reach there destination over walking for many hours. I know habal-habal but I haven't ride it yet tho, and I really really want to have one.hahaha

I am not so sure but there are habal-habal motorcycles in Metro Manila but it is considered illegal to transport passengers in this way as these motorcycles are not registered as public utility vehicles. I think that this mode of transportation is also quite unsafe. However, even if it is quite unsafe, people still choose to take it because they think it is much cheaper and quicker way to get to their destinations.

No, we also have that in Cebu. Mostly in places where you have to travel to mountainous areas. They also have habal-habal in Camotes. I think it's all over the Philippines. I can only count the times I've ridden a Habal-habal because I personally don't like them. It's too dangerous for me and the fare is much higher compared to riding a jeepney.

Nope. They have one too in Bohol when we took a vacation. Unfortunately, we didn't ride one as we rented a van to tour the place.

Definitely no! I have seen many habal habal in remote barangays. It is much cheaper if you ride a habal habal but it may not be as safe than riding a four-wheeled vehicle.

I have never got out of Mindanao but I think that yes, this is the only place where you can find this mode of transport. Whenever I have troubles with my motorcycle, I tend to ride the habal-habal. I have no discomforts with it since I have been riding motorcycles for years now. I think that it is like a taxi because it takes you to where you wanted to go and normally it is just you and the driver. It is pretty convenient and quite practical. I just hope that they legalize this transport system because it provides additional jobs for most of the Filipinos in the area.

Definitely no. I ride the habal-habal everyday in Cebu City. I also know of habal-habal in Bohol Province and other areas in Cebu City. They are found not only in provinces or rural areas but also in urban areas like Cebu City. They ply routes not covered by jeepneys including villages in the city, not just far-flung areas. Of course, it is not accepted as a legal means of transportation and there is some danger especially if you do not know the habal-habal driver but in my case, the distance travelled by the habal-habal is not that far.
